NORTHAMPTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE FROM OCTOBER 15 – NOVEMBER 12

 

“The Music of The Beatles: 50th Anniversary Edition” Will Examine Their Music & Career

 Easton-based Beatles expert and former Sirius Satellite Radio Program Director/On-Air Talent Brian S. Atwood has been invited to share his passion for The Beatles at NorthamptonCommunity Collegebeginning Wednesday, October 15.  Atwood’s five-week course, “The Music of The Beatles: 50th Anniversary Edition”, will explore how their unique talents and a few simple twists of fate made The Beatles the most popular and successful band in the history of rock and roll.

 

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of their arrival inAmerica, The Beatles continue to fascinate generations of music fans around the world.  This exclusive series of NCC Wednesday night classes is designed for both Beatles “newbies” and longtime fans alike – using videos, visual aids, guitars and of course, music – to explore the entire career of The Beatles.

 Atwood, a life-long Beatles fan and collector, spent the better part of a decade as a multi-format music programmer and on-air talent for Sirius Satellite Radio in New York City.  In addition to being a founding member of the Sirius team, he also worked in high managerial positions at The Philadelphia Orchestra, New YorkPhilharmonic and New York’s WQXR-FM.  Mr. Atwood has served either on the board or as a volunteer for multiple music institutions, written numerous music articles for Stagebill magazine, and received degrees in both communications and music history.  He is currently the owner of Brian S. Atwood Voice-Overs inEaston, with clients ranging from the Smithsonian to Josh Early Candies.
