The multi-platinum rock group The Go-Go’s embark on their farewell tour this summer to commemorate a groundbreaking thirty-eight years in the music industry.  The tour will feature members Charlotte Caffey, Belinda Carlisle, Gina Schock and Jane Wiedlin performing their timeless catalog.

From their days as America’s sweethearts to their current status as superstars who pioneered a genre, The Go-Go’s preside over an amazing three-decade reign as high pop priestesses. Their story truly is a punk version of the American Dream. They came, they saw and they conquered the charts, the airwaves and, with their kicky kitsch appeal, pop culture in general, as they cemented the foundation of the early 80’s pop-rock sound.  The legendary rock group made history as the first, and to date only, all-female band that both wrote their own songs and played their own instruments to ever top the Billboard charts. The Go-Go’s rose to fame during the early 1980s after the release of their debut album, Beauty and the Beat, which was #1 on the Billboard charts for six consecutive weeks, selling three million copies, and making it one of the most successful debut albums of all time. In 1982, The Go-Go’s were nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best New Artist” and the group also released their sophomore album, Vacation, that same year, which was certified Gold in the US and spawned another top 10 US hit with the title track. In 2011, the trailblazing band was honored with a Star on the world-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame.

One of the most influential guitarists in music, Jeff Beck helped shape the sounds of blues rock, psychedelia, and heavy metal, inspiring guitar players for decades with his unique style.  While Beck’s groups may have been short-lived, the impact they made and his aggressive style, encompassing screaming, bent, sustained notes, distortion, feedback, and fast, crisply articulated passages, continues to influence and entice musicians and fans alike.

From his time with the Yardbirds, through various incarnations of the Jeff Beck Group, and having performed and recorded with a who’s who of artists including Mick Jagger, Malcolm McLaren, Roger Waters, and Jon Bon Jovi, Jeff Beck continues to leave his musical mark to this day.  A seven time Grammy award winner and a two time member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a Yardbird and as a solo artist.  Beck was ranked fifth on the list of  “100 greatest guitarists of all time” by Rolling Stone magazine.

At age 79,
Buddy Guy is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a major influence on rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound, and a living link to the city’s halcyon days of electric blues. Buddy Guy has received 7 GRAMMY Awards, a 2015 Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY Award, 34 Blues Music Awards (the most any artist has received), the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked him #23 in its “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.”  Buddy Guy released his brand new studio album Born To Play Guitar on July 31, 2015 via Silvertone/RCA Records, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Blues Albums chart.  The new release features guest appearances by Van Morrison, Joss Stone, Kim Wilson and Billy Gibbons.

There is only one word to describe these two…Legends. You don’t want to miss Jeff Beck as he returns to the Sands Event Center with Buddy Guy for an unforgettable performance.
