99.9 The Hawk, St. Luke\’s Sports Medicine, and Lehigh Valley Honda are proud to present The 15th Annual Sheftel Softball Tournament! Come out on Saturday, June 15th (rain date: Sunday, June 16th) at Lehigh County Athletic Fields – Cedar Creek Parkway West, on the corner of Broadway and Parkway Road from 8:30am – 7:00pm for a day filled with lots of softball, family fun activities, Mocktail Mix-Off, and much more!
Special guests include former Philadelphia Phillies Hall of Fame Pitcher Steve Carlton, the winningest skipper in Phillies history! Steve will be on hand for a free All-Star Baseball Clinic for high school and middle school athletes.
What started as a friendly softball game in 2005 in memory of Justin Sheftel, who was hit and killed by a drunk driver just hours after graduating from Parkland High School, has now donated over $450,000 to the Lehigh Valley community.
Join your family and friends as you enjoy the games, silent auction, and many more events. All conducted in the honor and memory of a special individual, Justin Sheftel.
For the 15th Anniversary, an anonymous donor will match any new donations, including increased donations to the 2019 tournament from past donors.
Also new for 2019 is a drunk driving simulation course sponsored by Vinart Dealerships in partnership with Buckle Up PA and the Highway Safety Network. Participants will have the opportunity to experience impaired driving first-hand.
Through a pair of “drunk goggles”, participants will drive golf carts around a series of cones. The driver will lose depth perception, vision will be impaired as well as their balance. A police officer will accompany them in the passenger seat and talk to them during the driving course. Drivers will be able to interact and explain what they are feeling and why.
Participants can also wear the goggles to play a bean bag toss game to provide them with another perspective. The Lehigh Valley DUI/Highway Safety Task Force trailer will be on display with an information booth as well.

Lace up your cleats (non metal required) and grab those softball gloves, the 15th annual tournament is scheduled and we are making plans for another great fun filled day for everyone. To facilitate our planning, we formed a Board to provide direction and insight as we move forward and to generate ideas for the 2019 tournament. We will be hosting Friday night VIP reception for our $500, $1000 and $1,500 sponsors, with some special guests.

for underserved youth in the greater Lehigh Valley.
The monies raised at the softball tournament support the Memorial Fund, which has awarded scholarships and monies to charities totaling over $450,000. Since 2006 scholarships have been awarded to Parkland seniors, and in 2019 scholarships will now be awarded to seniors at Parkland, William Allen and Dieruff high schools. The Memorial Fund has also supports the Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley, Bike Works and the Allentown School District’s Drive program for middle school baseball players.

Mocktail Event – 1:45pm
Look for the tent with the mixolgists hard at work creating their mocktails. This event is sponsored by Red Robin, with 4 mixologist and special guest judges! We can’t wait to see the competition and hear Keith’s take on the concoctions.
50/50 Raffle – 12:00-6:00pm
Every hour between this time, 4 tickets will be drawn to win a prize. The final drawing right before the men’s championship game! Last year the winner took home $525.
Great food available all day!
· Kona Ice will be there to serve something cold and refreshing.
· Trixie’s Treats will be there for an am fix and to grab some sweets for the day – cupcakes are amazing.
