Boz Scaggs!

It’s appropriate that Boz Scaggs‘ new album is Out of the Blues, since the blues is what first sparked his five-decade musical career. For the second time, singer/songwriter, Boz Scaggs will take the stage at the historic State Theatre. The Grammy Award®-winner will perform on Friday, June 21st.

Show time is 7:30 PM. Tickets are $175(VIP)/$75/$65/$55 and can be purchased by visiting the State Theatre Box Office, 453 Northampton Street, Easton, by calling 1-800-999-STATE, 610.252.3132 or online at www.statetheatre.org. Sponsored by 99.9 The Hawk.

Boz Scaggs began his career as a vocalist and guitarist of the Steve Miller Band in the late 60s before the success of his 1976 solo album, Silk Degrees, which produced hit singles such as “Lowdown,” “Lido Shuffle,” and “We’re All Alone.” He blurs the lines between genres, often mixing rock, soul, country, blues, and jazz to create a truly unique sound. In 2015, Scaggs released his album A Fool to Care, which rose to number one on the Billboard Blues Album chart. His latest album Out of the Blues also reached number one on the chart.

Scaggs racked up three Grammy nominations in 1977 for Silk Degrees, earning the award for Best R&B Song with “Lowdown.” Silk Degrees went five-time multi-platinum and rose to #2 on the US Charts. He was nominated again for a Grammy in 1988 for Come On Home.

“Music has been a constant companion and I’m feeling more free with it than ever,” says Scaggs. “I feel like I’ve found my voice through all these years, and I’ve gotten closer to where I want to be with my approach.”
